When you arrive for your shoot, your equipment is out and ready to roll. If you are not totally familiar with the equipment, give yourself enough time to read the manuals or ask questions. Remember, as with any rental facility, you are fully responsible for any damage or loss to the equipment, as you are with everything else at the studio.
You will be charged for a full day rental for any equipment you take possession of after the equipment inspection. Whether you actually use the item or not, you will still be charged, just like in regular rental houses. All rental charges are due at the end of the shoot, unless you have an account. All rates are per day, unless it says otherwise on the item's listing.
If you need any additional piece of equipment during your shoot, in case the creative direction takes a detour, or you need a quick replacement for your own equipment, we'll be happy to add it to your rental. Once the studio rental starts, there is an extra $20 surcharge per request on equipment that is added "on-demand". Sometimes this can actually save you money, because you don't have to rent unnecessary gear ahead of time. We have to do this, because of previous users keeping us running around all day pulling $5 equipment out, piece by piece.
If any equipment is damaged or lost, you are responsible for paying for the replacement of it, all costs incurred, plus 25% of the rental rates during the time of repair or replacement.
In the case of a previously used bulb burning out during your shoot due to damage (broken filament, cracked case, bent, etc), you will be charged full replacement value, plus courier from store, and any other expenses, like duties for non-local availability, etc.. If the bulb was just replaced by a new one before your rental, you will be charged the full price, plus courier. Bulb prices vary from $15 for an ESS modelling bulb to $210 for a Speedotron Flash tube, so please be careful when moving lights, especilaly while bulbs are hot.
