You can achive an interesting "glowing" look by having it it shoot-through mode, just out of camera frame, close to your subject or object. Use the silver for more contrast and punchier color, with the bonus of creating more "sparkly" catchlights in the subject's eyes. These umbrellas can also be used with the Lowel Totalight for video applications, if your budget doesn't permit renting the Octolights.
